University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus, University of Jammu hosted an unforgettable Freshers' cum Farewell Party to welcome the newly admitted batch of 1st semester Computer Science and Civil Engineering. The event "Ananya Sangam 2024" was held at the UIET premises. The day was packed with fun, frolic, and a myriad of scintillating performances by students. Ananya Sangam brought together esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and students alike to celebrate the diverse talents and achievements within the UIET community. The event unfolded with an array of captivating performances, showcasing the artistic and cultural prowess of the students. From mesmerizing musical performances to captivating dance routines, the stage came alive with energy and enthusiasm. The event also provided an opportunity for the incoming students to acquaint themselves with the vibrant academic community and forge lasting connections with their peers and mentors. The party saw seniors and juniors coming together for a day of celebration and bonding. The ambiance was lively, and the atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement and enthusiasm.
The program commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the esteemed guests, following which a plethora of activities ensued. As the day was dedicated to the juniors and the seniors, they were given the chance to showcase their skills and talents. Alongside their performances, the seniors organized a few hilarious titles and games, which provided an excellent opportunity for the new batch to interact with their seniors and get to know each other better.
In the event the participants showcased their talent, quirkiness, presentability, and smartness to compete for the coveted title of Mr. / Ms. Fresher and Mr. / Ms. UIET. The competition was keenly contested, and the participants dazzled the stage, enthralling the audience. Er. Amarjeet Chopra, Dr.Ritu Sharma, Er.Arooshi Mahajan, and Er. Vishawjeet Singh and Er. Arjun Kapoor, the faculty members of UIET, served as the judges for the party and evaluated the performances of the participants on various parameters. The much-awaited "Dude & Diva" ramp walk and questioning round held at UIET culminated in a thrilling finish and emerged as the Mr. Arpit Sudan and Ms. Arunakshi as Mr. and Ms. Fresher respectively, and Mohd. Shahban Malik and Ms. Stanzin Mentpok remained as Mr. And Ms. UIET. The winners were rewarded with sashes and gifts to commemorate their achievements.
The "Ananya Sangam 2024" received the blessings of Chief Guest of the day Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu who extended warm congratulations to all participants and commended the students for their exemplary teamwork and creativity in organizing such a successful event. He further said that the event served as a testament to the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of the UIET community, setting the stage for a promising academic year ahead. He also motivated the students to put their best foot forward in the new journey of life that they have embarked on and asked the students to utilize their time in best way to achieve the desired goals in their lives. Prof. Jasrotia stressed that by organising such events encourage students to explore their passions and excel in their academic pursuits.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) welcomed the audience and emphasized the importance of fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. He said that the successful organization of "Ananya Sangam 2024" indicates the commitment of the UIET towards providing a holistic educational experience to its students. He further added that the success of the event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students of 4th and 6th semesters and the faculty members of UIET, who left no stone unturned in organizing an unforgettable experience for the juniors and seniors.
The event witnessed a plethora of distinguished guests, including Dr. Vivek Sharma, (Academic Coordinator, KC), Mr. Amit Sharma, (AP, MCA), Dr. Pankaj Khajuria, (Assistant Registrar, KC) and along with the entire teaching and non-teaching staff of UIET, MBA, MCA and English departments.
