MBA Students of Kathua Campus, JU visit Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, Samba.

The Management School, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized the Industrial visit for the MBA II and MBA IV semester students to the Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited on 22.02.2024 (Thursday). This visit was organized to sensitize the students about the comprehensive working of the pharmaceutical firm in terms of production, processing and packaging.

An industrial tour is a part of the students' curriculum to give them first-hand experience of the industrial units. Students and staff were given a guided tour of the manufacturing, processing and packaging unit. In their two-hour tour of the Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, students were briefed about the history and working culture of the firm and its market segmentation, targeting and positioning. While interacting with the students, Mr. Ajay Kaul, Manager, Corporate Relations said that the Sun Pharma is the leading pharma company in India which maintains quality production and hiring a highly professional workforce from all over the nation. He said that the students must inculcate the sense of integrating classroom knowledge with practical organizational operations so that they can make best of their professional business education.

Ms Kavita, Officer, Quality Compliance, briefly discussed the history of the company. With grace and expertise, she explored how the company works in different countries of the world. She not only outlined the journey of the company in Jammu but also addressed all the queries of the students with clarity and precision. Mr. Naveen Tiwari, Senior Manager, Production has guided the student through the production facility. Students also experienced the batch process of production and packaging of the medicines.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua campus appreciated the initiative taken by the Management School. He asked the faculty members to keep sensitizing the students to the latest trends in organizational development and operations management. It will help MBA students of the campus to be the assets for the socio-economic resurgence of Kathua in particular and Jammu in general besides contributing to the professional capacity building of the J&K UT.

The industrial visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Zahin Ansari, I/c Head, MBA. Mr. Gourav Sharma coordinated with the company for the smooth conduct of the visit. Faculty members including Ms. Avni Sharma, Ms. Tiharika, Ms. Kamakshi, Ms. Anu Bala along with students of MBA II and IV semester during the visit.
