DSRS organizes Fresher Party-Cum-Cultural Programme 'Aakarshan 2.0'

Students of the second batch of the Master Programme of the Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), University of Jammu organized the Fresher Party-Cum-Cultural Programme "Aakarshan 2.0 : 2024" in the Computer Science Department Auditorium of the University of Jammu.
 
The programme was initiated with the lighting of the lamp. Yashasvi Mahajan and Fida Hussain of the second year conducted the proceedings of the event. The programme started with an introduction by the freshers. Students performed various cultural items including games, mimicry, songs, and poetry.
Mohd Saqlain of Semester I made a solo song performance. There was a solo dance performance by Aryan Khajuria, Ist Semester student. 
 
A beautiful dance performance was made by Riya Raina, Sonali Singh, Sohani Sharma, Anuj Sharma and Sheetal Devi. 
 
There was a dance performance by 3rd Semester students Sonali Bhagat, Yashasvi Mahajan, Divya Kotwal and Suneha Gargotra for freshers. A ramp walk by Ist Semester
 students followed it. Divya Kotwal sang a very melodious song. Judges of the program declared Anuj Sharma as Mr. Fresher and Riya Raina as Miss Fresher based on their performance in various activities. 
 
After this program Prof. Virender Koundal, Director, DSRS shared his views and motivated the students to excel in the different fields. Other faculty members Dr. Mohd. Monir Alam, Dr. Suneel Kumar, Dr. Surinder Sharma, Dr. Ganesh Malhotra and Dr. Ranjan Sharma, as well as other staff members and research scholars of the department, were present on the occasion. 
It is pertinent to mention here that DSRS started the Master's Degree Programme in Defence and Strategic Studies from the session 2022-23 and this is the second batch of the department.
