INTER-COLLEGIATE CHESS (M&W) CHAMPIONSHIP 2023-24

Today The Fencing (Men) Championship organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, commence at the University Fencing Hall.

Following are the final results of today’s competitions.
Gold Medal: GDC Reasi, Team comprises of Sunil Roy, Devinder Singh, Rahul Sharma & Sourav Verma.

Silver Medal: GDC Poonch, Team comprises of Mohd. Umar, Tahir Irfan, Imran & Mohd. Sadeeq.

Bronze Medal: GDC Udhampur, Team comprises of Surya Dev Singh, fayaz Ahmed, Manthan Mehra Surya Dev Singh.

Event: Foil team Men
Gold Medal: GDC Reasi, Team Gourav Thakur, Bhanu Partab Singh, Atul Kumar & Mohinder Kohli.

Silver Medal: GDC Udhampur, Team comprises of Surya Dev Singh, Shokwat Rashid, Surya Dev Singh, & Kavaya Sharma.

Bronze Medal: GDC Poonch, Team comprises of Mohd. Sadeeq Mohd. Adrees & Mohd. Zahir.

Event Epee Team Men:
Gold: GDC Reasi Team comprises of Gourav Thakur, Nizaket Hussain, Mohd. Muneer & Neeraj Kumar.

Silver: GDC Udhampur. Team Comprises of Kavya Sharma Fayaz Ahmed, Manthan Mehra & Showket Rashid.

Event Sabre Individual Men: 

Gold: Suryansh Sharma (Trikuta Degree College)
Silver: Praney Singh (P. G Deptt.JU)
1st Bronze: Rohit Sharma (GDC Reasi)
2nd Bronze: Devinder Singh (GDC Reasi)

Earlier Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu declared the Championship open after introduction with the participating team’s players along with Sh. Rashid Ahmed Chouwdary (International Fencer) Sh. Mukesh Sharma & Sashi Kumar Sharma (Physical Directors).

The matches were officiated by Sh. Ajay Kumar, Sh. Veer Sagram Singh, Maninder Pal Singh, Sh. Adarsd Salathia, Ranchan Saberwal, Javed Ahmed Chouwdary and Sdr. P.D Singh. 

Tomorrow the remaining individual events of men section will be held.
