Gandhian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Jammu organised a ten day yoga workshop, “Yoga and Inner peace” in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu. The purpose of the workshop is to make the students experience yoga so that they are able to make it a part of their daily routine.
Prof Rajiv Rattan, Director College Development Council, University of Jammu was the chief guest in the inaugural session.He in his inaugural address talked about yoga as a significant aspect of our culture and heritage since times immemorial. He further threw light on the negative impact of sedentary lifestyle and poor dietary habits on our physical and mental health.
Dr Mandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presented the formal Vote of thanks. Sixty two students are attending this workshop. Among others, Dr. Sapna Sangra, Sandeep Sharma, Gagan Kumar, Ravish vaid Rajkumar, Jai Bharat, PD Singhand Gagan Singh were also present during the inaugural session
