Department of Zoology University of Jammu, celebrated world honey bee day and organized a lecture and hands on training on the topic: Bee engaged in pollinator friendly agricultural production. The lecture was delivered by an eminent worker and researcher in this field Dr. Devinder Sharma, Associate Professor, Head AICRP honeybee and pollinators division of Entomology, SKUAST- Jammu. For the function formal floral welcome to the guest was given by Dr.Arti Sharma of Zoology Department.
Speaker during his lecture gave a detailed insight into beekeeping, especially the economic benefits of this field as an entrepreneur option. He also motivated students to be messengers in society and tell people of the benefits of honey and honeybee keeping. Hands-on demonstration of beekeeping was also given in the zoological park of the university , where bee boxes have been installed. The program ended with a vote of thanks to the speaker and participants
