International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Global Shapers Community Jammu Hub, Rotaract Club of Jammu and the JK Arts foundation organized an outreach visit cum donation drive at Government Middle School, Pathwal, district Kathua. This outreach visit was organized with the objective of inculcating a spirit of contribution, social awareness amongst the students, and imbibe a sense of responsibility for the society amongst the students.
During the visit, the students and faculty of ICccR & HRM as well as members from the collaborating bodies, donated maths and science kits, water filter, tables, chairs, books and stationery to the school. The students of the MBA (International Business) Programme also helped in setting up the library. The school fraternity honoured the faculty at ICccR & HRM, JU to inaugurate their library. An interaction was also held wherein the school fraternity shared the kind of challenges being faced by them in imparting education to the students and that they would seek support in the process. The school children were also provided with refreshments.
The MBA (IB) students also discussed the importance of education in present day scenario and encouraged the school children to always be open to learning and innovating. They also motivated the school children to work hard and never give up on their dreams.
The outreach activity was a great success, with the teachers and administrators of the school expressing their gratitude for this initiative to provide support for the school. The Sarpanch also visited the school during the time of the outreach activity and also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the students and the collaborating bodies.
ICccR & HRM, JU is committed to continuing its efforts to support underprivileged schools and communities, and looks forward to making a positive difference in the lives of more students in the future. The initiative was coordinated by Dr. Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor at ICccR & HRM, JU alongwith Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Neha Gupta, Dr. Shivani Rana and Dr. Swati Sharma, faculty at ICccR & HRM, JU. Shivam Gupta and Guntaas Singh, alumni MBA (International Business) Programme (Batch 2020-22) as members of Rotaract Club, Jammu, Global Shapers Community and JK Art Foundation supported this visit and facilitated in managing the contributions for this visit.
