The University of Jammu in a statement issued to the media has condoled the sad demise of eminent educationists and chemist Prof Rajive Gupta who served in the University in various capacities. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof Umesh Rai in a condolence message to the bereaved family on behalf of the University fraternity recalled Prof Gupta's immense contribution to the university of Jammu and to the educational and social life of J&K. "Prof Rajive Gupta was an academician of international standing and an able academic administrator.
His sad passing away is a big loss to the academic world," the University communication said. It is noteworthy that Prof Rajive Gupta served Jammu University as Head, Dept of Chemistry and Dean Research Studies .He also served as Chairperson of the Quality Assurance Cell, Director Colleges Development Council, Chief Coordinator Campuses and Director, Directorate of Distance Education University of Jammu. Prof Rajive Gupta later also served as the first Pro- Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu.
