University Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Rai has started a series of five-day workshop modules of Value Added Courses. The first module “Employability Skills for Being Future Ready” began today with over 50 participating students from the Department of Zoology and that of Statistics.
In the inaugural session, Prof. Seema Langer, Dean Faculty of Science and Head, Department of Zoology emphasized the need for such workshops for University students under immense academic and competitive pressure. Prof Alka Sharma Convener, UESDC spoke of the initiative to run these modules throughout the year to ensure that these sessions benefit all the students of Jammu University. She appraised the gathering that such value added courses give an edge to the students in their employability profile. Dr. Garima Gupta, Coordinator (Module I) presented the vote of thanks and Dr. Sarabjit Kour, teacher-in-charge, Department of Zoology conducted the proceedings. Dr. Anil Gupta Associate Professor SHTM, conducted the first session with the students. Ms Swati Basotra, a freelance consultant at IIT Jammu was the resource person for the day.
