Green Campus Task Force (GCTF-JU) and Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) in collaboration with Digital Age Strategies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore organized a one-day “Awareness cum Training Programme on Green Auditing for Sustainable Campus”.

Prof. Piyush Malaviya, Convener, GCTF-JU while formally welcoming the participants, apprised them about the need for green auditing in the University campus as it helps to analyze the environmental practices within the campus, which will have an impact on the environment and also is an important criterion for NAAC compliance.He also highlighted the importance of energy management and resource conservation in day-to-day life. Dr. Deepika Slathia, Member Secretary GCTF-JU informed the participants about the requirements and importance of green auditing which basically helps organizations improve their environmental performance through efficient use of resources and reduction of wastes, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders.

Mr. Madan Mohan, Lead Consultant, Digital age strategies Pvt Ltd was the resource person for the training wherein he spoke about the requirements to be fulfilled by the university for obtaining ISO 14001-2015 certification. In his presentation, he discussed various case studies on environmental management systems being followed by other educational institutions.
The programme was attended by Dr. Ginny Dogra, Deputy Director, and Mr. Amit Targotra, Quality Assurance Officer from DIQA, Dr. Rakesh Kumar and Dr. Meenakshi from the Department of Environmental Sciences. More than fifty faculty members, research scholars, and students from various departments of the University of Jammu attended the training programme.
