The Red Ribbon Club of the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education, J&K Govt. commemorated International Youth Day (IYD) which is celebrated every year on 12th August by the countries around the world. The theme of IYD-2022 was “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages”. Students from various teaching departments of the university participated in Mobile Film Making, Poster Making and Elocution competitions and exhibited their creative and intellectual talents on highly relevant topics.

Prof. Sanjana Kaul, Dr. Sarika Manhas, Dr. Garima Gupta, Dr. Pritam Singh, Dr. Ravinder Singh and Dr. Purshottam Kumar were the adjudicators for the events whereas Dr. Hema Gandotra, coordinator Red Ribbon Club of DSW coordinated the same. The events were organized under the guidance of Prof. Prakash Antahal, Dean Students Welfare and Prof. Vishav Raksha Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee.

In Elocution, Akshita Sharma from Department of Zoology, Razaq Ahmed from Department of Urdu and Kanak Bali from Department of Zoology secured First, Second and Third Positions respectively. In Poster Making, Cho Cho Najma from Department of Education, Bushra Ambreen from Department of Urdu and Nazia Kosar from The Law School were declared First, Second and Third respectively. In Mobile Film Making, Eram Nawaz Khan, Vishal Kumar and Ghulam Mustafa from the Department of Urdu received Certificate of Appreciation.

The team of DSW consisting of Prof. Prakash Antahal, Prof. Vishav Raksha, Prof. Sanjana Kaul, Co-Chairperson, CCC, Dr. Anil Gupta (Associate Dean SW) Dr. Garima Gupta and Dr. Pritam Singh (Assistant Deans, SW), Dr. A.R. Manhas & Dr. Shallu Sharma (Deputy Proctors), members of Campus Cultural Committee, Ms Mansi Mantoo, Media Officer and Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor oversaw the events and results.
