The University of Jammu was appointed as the Nodal Agency for the conduct of the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the Assistant Professor for UT of Jammu and Kashmir (JKSET) and UT of Ladakh (LASET) in 38 subjects. This year Public Administration subject was also added for the first time in the list of papers.The syllabus and pattern of the examination were kept the same as of the UGC & CSIR NET.  Prof Umesh Rai,Vice Chancellor. University of Jammu, the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test Agency in his address underlined the importance of the State Eligibility Test (SET) and complimented Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Member Secretary of JKSET Agency and his team for the hard  work and sincere efforts put in by them for  flawless conduct of this mega event.

Earlier, Prof Srivastava informed that 31,543 candidates got registered for the JKSET/LASET Examination which was held on July 24, 2022 at 67 different examination Centers spread throughout the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh. In J & K the centres were in the University and Colleges at Jammu, Srinagar, Anantnag,  Baramulla, Kathua, Rajouri, and Udhampur while the UT of Ladakh had centres  both at Leh and Kargil. Elaborate arrangements, including videography of examination centre for fair and smooth conduct of examination, were made by the JKSET Agency, said Prof Srivastava.  A total of 21340 candidates appeared in the examination.

The Examination was conducted smoothly in all the Centers. Apart from the Observers from the Nodal Agency i.e. JKSET Agency, University of Jammu, the University Grants Commission (UGC), which is the accreditation body for the State Eligibility Test (SET), had also appointed 7 Observers across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh at different centres. The Observers have expressed their satisfaction with the way the examinations were conducted at different centres. The Member Secretary informed that number of Pre-conduct meetings and Workshops were conducted by the JKSET Agency for the Observers, Examination Superintendent and other officials at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh which helped in the smooth and fair conduct of the examination. 

Covid 19 guidelines including wearing of mask and use of sanitiser were strictly followed in the Examination Centers, extra face masks were provided to all the Centre Superintendents for ensuring adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour.
