ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu in collaboration with Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy-CMIE organized workshop on “Usage of E-Learning Resources in Business”.

International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), in collaboration with Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy-CMIE organised workshop on “Usage of E-Learning Resources in Business”. The objective of the workshop was to acquaint students and research scholars about the international trade database management with special emphasis on import-export data, consumer data and household survey data.

Mr. Surendra Negi, CMIE Professional for Northern India conducted the workshop and elaborated upon the CMIE presence over the entire information food-chain - from large scale primary data collection and information product development through analytics and forecasting. Also, the deliberations highlighted the CMIE services that encompasses the entire spectrum of business information consumers including governments, academia, financial markets, business enterprises, professionals and media.

The benefits of using CMIE databases inclusive of Trade Dx, Prowess and Economic Outlook were highlighted and students were made aware about economic and business databases and the process of development of specialised analytical tools to deliver trends, projections and forecasting for decision making and for research and corporate assignments.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Neetu Andotra, Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, spoke about the importance of CMIE and allied databases on the Indian economy, industries, states, agriculture, foreign exchange, and businesses, as well as global economies for developing statistical skills amongst the international business students. Further, it was explicitly stated to incorporate such like databases in compilation of internship reports, industry analysis and comparative studies that shall enable students of international business to develop international trade acumen and trade related analytical skills.

It is pertinent to mention that under Student Capacity Building Programme, at ICccR & HRM, series of workshops have been organised and this workshop particularly was conceived to introduce technological and data base management know how amongst the students.

The session was organized by Dr. Isha Sharma, Faculty, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu. Dr. Neha Gupta and Dr. Swati Sharma coordinated the workshop.

The faculty members at ICccR & HRM, students of MBA (International Business) and research scholars attended and participated in the workshop.
