The Management School, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organised the Industrial visit of the MBA II and MBA IV semester students to the Chenab Textile Mills Kathua. This visit was organised to sensitise the students about the comprehensive working of the organisation in terms of production, processing and packaging. An industrial tour is a part of the curriculum for the students to give them first-hand experience of the industrial units. Students and staff were given a guided tour of the manufacturing, processing and packaging unit. In their three hour tour of the Chenab Textile Mills, students were briefed about the history and working culture of the organisation and its market segmentation, targeting and positioning. While interacting with the students Ms. Kanika Singh, Senior Welfare/HR officer said that the organisation is the flagship of KK Birla group and has carved its niche by maintaining the quality production and hiring a highly professional workforce from all over the nation. She said that the students must inculcate the sense of integrating the classroom knowledge with the practical organisational operations so that they are able to make the best of

their professional business education. This is the cardinal principle adopted by professional organisations to hire management professionals.Sh. Sandeep Singh, Senior Manager, Training and Development Section emphasised that the students must observe the plant and machinery besides the work culture of the employees in our organisation . To internalise how value addition in terms of technical support is a catalyst to improve production by making the human resource more skilled to cope with the market the competition so that brand value is not diluted. Sh. S. K. Jena, Senior Manager, Training and Development with a specialisation in the Art of Living asked the students to maintain the equipoise between body, mind and soul. Human being who is disinterested in performing work and not integrating his personal goals with the organisational goals can neither excel himself nor can he add value to the organisation. He is

working for. He asked the students to be equipped to face the cutthroat marker challenges it is imperative to adopt holistic management and add spirituality to the work culture. Students visited the various sections of the Chenab Textile Mills right from a blending of the raw materials, processing, production and packing of the finished yarns.

Dr.Meenakshi Kilam, Rector, Kathua campus appreciated the initiative taken by the Management School and asked the faculty to keep sensitising the students with the latest trends in the organisational development and operations management so that MBA students of the campus turn to be the assets for a socio-economic resurgence of Kathua in particular and Jammu in general besides contributing to the professional capacity building of the J and K UT. She said that Prime Minister in his recent visit to Jammu has already catalysed the business resurgence and Kathua Campus is ready to take the baton to lead from the front.Students were accompanied by the faculty members of MBA Department, Kathua Campus that included Ms. Anjally Gupta,Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Dr.Zaheen Ansari and Dr.Mahesh Koul.
