The Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu organized a screening of the play ‘Mind Games, which has been brilliantly written & directed by Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor, SW. The screening was a part of an ongoing theatre training workshop which is being attended by the students of different departments of the University of Jammu. Other than participants of the workshop, the screening was witnessed by the members of the Campus Cultural Committee and Student Cultural Representatives who appreciated the endeavour of DSW in bringing cultural vibrance to the campus.

Speaking at the occasion, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Parkash Antahal expressed that Theatre is one of the most effective tools for personality development and it has the potential to kindle positivity and creativity amongst youth. As it is very effective in inculcating confidence, discipline, punctuality, positivity and creativity amongst its practitioners, this workshop will prove very beneficial for the students. He also shared that the Department of Students Welfare has planned to organize a series of training workshops for the students of different departments and affiliated colleges of the University of Jammu. He also informed that the Department of Students Welfare has chalked out a vibrant calendar of events under the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to provide a learning and performing platform to students under the able consultation of Prof. Vishav Raksha (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof Sanjana Kaul, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof B.K. Bajaj (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Garima Gupta & Dr. Pritam Singh (Assistants Deans SW), Ms. Mansi Mantoo (Media Officer) and members of the Campus Cultural Committee.

The theatre training workshop is being conducted by Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor at the Department of Students Welfare who is the recipient of the National Award for theatre direction. Sound and projections were looked after by Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul.
