The Business School, University of Jammu organized an interactive session on Smart Mobility Opportunities.  At the outset Prof. Sameer Gupta, Director, The Business School welcomed, Maneesh Jamwal - an accomplished IT professional with 25+ year of Industry experience, having worked in different countries across Asia. Currently, Mr. Jamwal is leading the Ford Mobility Technology Group in India as Technical Director, Smart Mobility India and specializes is the digital transformation of business, solving complex business challenges with technology and developing the next generation of leaders in the organization.

The prime focus of today’s session was to prepare the students and ignite their minds with the happenings in the automobile sector. Mr. Maneesh Jamwal discussed the tremendous potential of smart vehicles and shared the concept of a smart city and how a smart world shares a close resemblance with the growth of the economy as a whole. He introduced the students to the concept of advanced vehicle technology supported by connectivity, electrification and automation. He shared the 85% utilization mantra of the automated vehicle industry for its success. The Indian market holds a lot of potential as the aspiration here are high and the urbanization and high middle-class aspiration are what makes India more successful for automobile innovations.

Besides he also discussed leadership issues and emphasised the requirement of developing the next generation of leaders in the organisations. The aspiration and vision are what make a leader different from others. He opined that instead of seeing others as a source of problems it is important to ask yourself the right question and act in the right way which calls for adaptability and flexibility in your character which will help leave your flavour in others and make you stand apart from others. According to him, a leader is one who is able to reflect his internal self apart from working on the outer sphere you need to intervene in your internal structure and bring out your potential and calibre. The session concluded with an elaborate question-answer session and the vote of thanks was provided by Dr. Amisha Gupta, Associate Professor, The Business School, University of Jammu.
