Webinar and Online Quiz Competition

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), ) in collaboration with University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET),Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, Jammu   successfully concluded  Online- National Online Quiz Competition on occasion of “National Science  Day”. The online quiz Competition was held from 28th Feb 2022 .The event was started with the welcome address and a lecture on National Science Day   by Prof. Susheel Sharma, President IIC, University of Jammu.  He spoke on the importance of National Science Day in order to raise awareness on the importance of science that has in our daily lives. This day is celebrated every year on February 28 in the country to celebrate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect”. India’s great scientist, Sir C.V Raman, invented the ‘Raman Effect’ on this day and won a Nobel Prize for the same. He further said he was the scientist who has received education in India and carried out distinguishing research work in India which was recognized globally.

The rules for online quiz were explained by Dr. Meghna Dhar. Attempting this Quiz was to help in Refreshing the Knowledge of Participants. The quiz was open to all participants like NSS Volunteers, Students, Scholars of various Universities and Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. More than 160 participants were registered. The quiz contained 60 questions and each question carried 1 mark and maximum marks were 60. The quiz link was activated for only half an hour and the participant had to submit the quiz within half an hour.

. First Cash Prize of Rs. 1000/- was secured by Sonali Rajput of  (UIET),Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, Jammu  who secured  50  marks  while Ragav Sharma of  (UIET),Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, Jammu   achieved Second  Cash Prize of Rs.700/- by securing  49    marks . Mehak Sharma   of   University of Jammu, Jammu   secured   Third Cash Prize of Rs. 500/-  by securing  48 marks . The participants, who successfully qualified the quiz, were awarded with an appreciation digital certificate which was received by them on their e-mail. All the participants participated in the event with enthusiasm. The event was organized online on Google Meet platform and result was also declared on the same platform.

The quiz and lecture was attended by students, scholars, faculties, staff and other stakeholders from various universities and colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. All the participants participated in the event with great enthusiasm. E-Certificates were awarded to every participant for their participation in the event.

Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Jammu lauded the efforts of all the participants for the successful conduct of the event and congratulated the winners . The workshop was conducted with the cooperation and support of   Dr. Meenakshi  Kilam , Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu  and she  appreciated the efforts of organizers for organizing the event. The Workshop was organized under the supervision and guidance of Prof. Susheel Sharma, Director IIC, and Coordinator UIET,Kathua ,University of Jammu,  Jammu Campus. Prof. Susheel Sharma said that such online contests are very helpful to encourage participants to sharpen their skills and update their knowledge.  He further looked forward for having such more events in future also towards integrating literacy and skill development for a New India. The event was organized with the technical support of Er. Rakshit Khajuria and Er,. Rajan Verma of Dr. Meghna Dhar, Internship Activity Coordinator, IIC, University of Jammu, was the Moderator of the Event and carried on the deliberations of the event and presented vote of thanks.
