The Guru Nanak Chair, Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu and Post Graduate Department of Punjabi organized a one-day National Webinar on “Guru Nanak Dev Ji Di Darshnik Drishti”. Prof. (Dr) Jagbir Singh, former Head, Department of Punjabi, University of Delhi and currently the Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, who is a well-renowned scholar of Punjabi delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the aforesaid topic. Prof. (Dr) Singh highlighted the underpinnings of the philosophy, teaching, and the path of humanity, not only preached but also practiced throughout, by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu took a keen interest in the lecture and shared his insights on the topic. The Vice-Chancellor expounded that it is the essence of every religion that must be understood rather than the form of it. He emphasized that all the various religions are but different paths to the same destination; God.
This national webinar was organized by Prof. Satnam Kour, the Chair Professor, Guru Nanak Chair. Prof. Kour delivered the Welcome Address at the beginning of the webinar, in which she shed light on the essence of Gurbani authored by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and emphasized the all-pervading message of humanity and universal brotherhood throughout his writings.
Dr. Harjinder Singh, Assistant Professor graciously conducted the proceedings of the webinar. Dr. Pritam Singh, Assistant Professor was the technical expert, who was responsible for the smooth proceedings of the webinar. Dr. Baljit Kour, Head, Department of Punjabi presented a formal Vote of Thanks. The webinar was attended by over a hundred participants, including teachers, scholars, students, and members of civil society.
