VCJU inaugurated Poster Making Competition at IMFA

The Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar inaugurated a Poster Making Competition in the institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA). The poster competition was organized by the Department of Applied Art in collaboration with State organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTU) J&K. The Vice Chancellor also hoisted the  National Flag on the Roof Top of The Institute of Music and Fine Arts building.

            Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor stressed on faculty and students of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts to follow the SOP’s issued by Central and UT Govt. He said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narinder Modi in his various addresses to the nation has exhorted to preserve the cultural and literary heritage of the country and the Institute of Music and Fine Arts can play a vital role in preserving the Literacy and Cultural Legacy of the Jammu region. He further said that all the issues of Teaching and Non-Teaching employees of IMFA will be resolved very soon. He also assured to provide the necessary infrastructure to the IMFA. On the occasion, a Dance presentation based on “HOLI MILAN” by the students of the Kathak Dance Department. Dr. Priya Dutta and composed by Dr. Roshi Shaminotra along with the students of the Vocal Department was highly appreciated by the Vice-Chancellor.

            Earlier, Prof.Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal, IMFA presented a welcome address in which he highlighted the various problems being faced by IMFA employees. He also requested  Vice-Chancellor to redress the various pending issues s of employees of IMFA.

            The Vice-Chancellor also visited the department of Applied Art and interacted with students and faculty members. He also visited the Music Department and appreciated the role of students and faculty members in preserving the Heritage of the Jammu region. Sh.Rakesh Sharma, HOD Applied Art (IMFA) presented a formal vote of thanks. Those who were present on the occasion included Dr.Priya Dutta, Sh.Sunil Raina, Sh.Bahadur Singh, Dr. Sumeet Madan, Sh.Suraj Singh, Dr.Deepali Wattal, Sh.Sanjay Koul, Dr.Roshi Shaminotra, Dr. Jasmeet Kour, Smt. Bindu Sharma, Sh.Rajesh Kumar, Sh.Raj Kumar Sharma, Sh.Vijay Kumar, Dr.Sujata Rajput of Music department & Sh.Rakesh Sharma & Sh.Rohit Verma of Fine Arts department.

In poster making competition Divisha Jandial, Sachin Kumar, Priya Manhas, Pratham Verma, Kushal Kumar, Reet Gupta, Aditi Sharma, Medhavi Sharma, Jyeshtha Jamwal, Anmol Bonss Ruhi Banalch, Karan Sharma, Isha Sharma, Sknda Sharma, Mohd.Kamil, Vidushi Bhagat, Tannu Rajput, Vishali Mehra, Shruti Sharma, Zarina Parveen, Kuldan Gyatso & Aman Verma participated. The theme of the poster-making competition was “Donate Organ and Save Lives”.The participants made various posters on the theme which would be permanently displaced at the Superspeciality Hospital Jammu. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Sharma HOD Department of Applied Arts.
