Learning Management System, University of Jammu (JU-LMS)

Learning Management System of University of Jammu (JU-LMS) is based on Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment). It is built on a social constructionist pedagogy. 

It provides an effective and efficient platform for both teachers and students to facilitate and enhance the teaching and learning processes. Moodle is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS) used for virtual learning environments. It provides a centralized web platform where teachers upload materials, students complete interactive activities, and administrators track user progress.

Moodle's grading tools streamline the marking process, reduce human error, and provide students with transparent feedback. Teachers can assess work using either Grading Rubrics (structured criteria) or Marking Workflows (multi-stage evaluation pipelines). Moodle’s Gradebook calculates overall course grades using aggregation methods. These methods dictate how separate items (like quizzes, assignments, and forums) combine into a single category or course total.

The free Moodle app enables users to access their courses on mobile devices. Additional app features are available with a Pro or Premium app plan.
