As part of the series of activities being organized under Viksit Bharat @ 2047 campaign, the P.G. Department of Home Science, JU organized an Essay writing competition for the scholars and students.
Prof. Samridhi Arora in her welcome address applauded the initiative of Viksit Bharat by Hon’ble Prime Minister and she highlighted that this is the right time for youth of India to come forward and take advantage of every moment of this golden era. She further added that since ages, we all are working for the progress of our country in one or other capacities and that youth of India in today’s time can take responsibility of the nation building as they are full of new ideas and energy. To channelize youth energy, this vision of Viksit Bharat has been launched and youth as the ambassadors can contribute in this as much as they can.
Prof. Rajni Dhingra, Senior faculty member, P.G. Department of Home Science, JU interacted with the students and scholars. In her address, she highlighted that youth is the backbone of the country and they have to identify their goals and everybody should contribute for the Viksit Bharat Campaign. The youth have to empower themselves and start at the individual level leading to family, society and nation at large and shall work towards making India a developed nation in all aspects which includes Economy, Physical health, life expectancy, and Infrastructural growth of the country.
Addressing the participants, Prof, Neeru Sharma, Senior Faculty member, P.G. Department of Home Science, JU said the Viksit Bharat campaign is set to redefine the educational experiences for students and their holistic development. She stated that this initiative promises to shape the future leaders of our Nation and contribute significantly to India’s progress on the global stage. She also talked about the Women led Development in all aspects.
Prof Anupama Vohra, Convener Publication Cell and Professor, English, DD&OE, University of Jammu, in her address emphasized that the youth of our country are the real jewels and should come forward to express their ideas. She also encouraged students to read more and more and if we all work together then why to wait for 2047, it can be achieved by 2027.
While speaking on thew occasion, Prof. Sanjana Koul, Director the School of Biotechnology, stressed that there is enormous work that needs to be undertaken in a mission mode to make India Viksit Bharat by 2047. She also motivated the students to work on reading and communication skills and encouraged them to take part in such activities in future also.
The event was followed by the group discussion and the dialogue facilitated profound and meaningful exchange of ideas all of which, are linked to India’s transformative journey towards a prosperous, inclusive and visionary society.
The Essay writing competition on the theme “How Should Viksit Bharat Look Like in 2047” has a participation of fifteen students and it was adjudicated by Prof. Anupama Vohra and Prof. Sanjana Koul. Ms. Nadhia Kunden bagged First Prize and Ms. Anjali Sharma and Ms. Manvi bagged Second and Third Prize in the Essay Writing Competition.
The Faculty members from the Department of Home Science, JU, also graced the occasion and prominent among them were, Prof Shashi Manhas, Prof. Sarika Manhas, Dr. Charu Mohan, Dr, Priyanka Sharma.
A formal Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Anu Choudhary, Teacher Incharge for Viksit Bharat @2047.
