University of Jammu Inter-Departmental Tournament 2025-26 for Men & Women
Jammu, May 01: The University of Jammu witnessed an exhilarating final day of the Inter-Departmental Tournament 2025–26, hosted at the Gymnasium Hall. The closing day featured the final matches of Carrom and Badminton, with enthusiastic participation from various departments in both men's and women's categories.
The tournament is being conducted under the aegis of the Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, with visionary leadership and supervision from Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, and seamless coordination by Sh. Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba emphasized the value of sports in a student’s life, noting that such events play a vital role in fostering a dynamic and positive campus culture. He underlined that participation in sports not only improves physical fitness, but also supports mental health, stress relief and personality development.
CARROM-FINAL
Men’s Final:
The Geography Department displayed exceptional control and strategic game play, securing a 2-0 victory over the Botany Department. Their precise coordination led them to a clean sweep in the finals.
Women’s Final:
In a match filled with focus and finesse, the Design Your Degree Department emerged victorious against the Law Department with a commanding 2-0 win, capturing the championship with style.
BADMINTON FINALS
Men’s Final:
The Department of Physical Education dominated the court with powerful smashes and relentless energy, defeating the Law Department 2-0. Their strength and teamwork marked a well-earned championship triumph.
Women’s Final:
The D.S.R.S Department claimed the title with a remarkable 2-0 win over the Geology Department, displaying excellent coordination and athleticism throughout the match.
The smooth and fair conduct of all matches on the final day was ensured by the tireless efforts of officials Sh. Raj Kumar Bakshi, Sh. Ravish Vaid, Sh. Vikas Karlopia, and Sh. Gagan Kumar. Their commitment and professionalism contributed greatly to the success of the tournament.
