Interactive Session on Collaborative Research Skills Organized at JU

 

An interactive session on collaborative research skills was organized at Department of Economics, University of Jammu on 02 August, 2024, wherein the Resource Person Prof. Pardeep S. Chauhan from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi imparted collaborative research skills focusing on communication, team work, techno-economic proficiency, adaptability, and interdisciplinary ICT tools to the Ph. D research scholars of the department. He emphasized on the significance of collaborative skills for forming research groups a different themes relevant to Jammu and Kashmir economy, which is also mandated in the New Education Policy of the Government of India. Besides Ph. D research scholars, the faculty members of the department namely Prof. Dipankar Sengupta, Prof. Falendra Kumar, Prof. Prakash C. Anthal, Prof. Sunita Devi, Prof. Manoj Bhatt, Dr. Shallu Sehgal , and Dr.Tsering Yangzom including other faculty members were present during the programme. Prof. Sunita Devi welcomed the resource person, while Dr. Shallu Sehgal presented the vote of thanks.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME ORGANIZED AT DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS, JU

 

An Induction Programme for the students of 1st Semester was organized in the Department of Economics on 2nd of August, 2024 wherein Prof. Sunita Devi, Head of the Department elaborated the significance of M.A Economics Program and related career opportunities besides course structures, SWAYAM Programs and different co-curricular activities including Academic & Research Programs being organized by the department and their relevance for the capacity building of the students. She also highlighted the importance of different programs being conducted in the department and their linkages with the New Education Policy and economic development in the regional and national context, including global perspective. Other faculty members also enlightened the students regarding acquiring skills certifications, vocational knowledge, communications and leadership skills, co-curricular activities, different literary and cultural clubs at Jammu University, participating in National Service Scheme activities and Green  Campus activities during their stay in the department, besides other academic activities related to their career development. The faculty members of the department namely Prof. Dipankar Sengupta, Prof. Falendra Kumar, Prof. Prakash C. Anthal, Prof. Sunita Devi, Prof. Manoj Bhatt, Dr. Shallu Sehgal , and Dr.Tsering Yangzom including other faculty members were present during the programme. Dr. Shallu Sehgal welcomed the faculty members and students, while Dr. Apoorva Jamwal conducted the proceeding and  Dr.Tsering yangzom presented the vote of thanks.
