The Poonch Campus of Jammu University (JU), in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), successfully organized an "Entrepreneurship Programme" under the theme "Entrepreneurship as a Career Option," with a special focus on the J&K Startup Policy (2024-2027). The event was aimed to inspire and educate students and aspiring entrepreneurs about the various opportunities and support mechanisms available under the new policy.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Director of the Poonch Campus in his message highlighted the critical importance of such initiatives in his address. He emphasized that these events are essential to raise awareness among the youth about the vast avenues in entrepreneurship. Prof. Vaid assured that the Poonch Campus will continue to organize similar events in the future to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students. He further said that the event featured engaging discussions and interactive sessions that provided valuable insights into the entrepreneurial landscape, focusing on the support and opportunities offered by the J&K Startup Policy (2024-2027). This initiative marks a significant step towards nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation in the region. Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer and faculty member of JKEDI, provided an in-depth overview of the "Entrepreneurship as a Career Option" program, with a particular emphasis on the J&K Startup Policy (2024-2027). He expressed gratitude to Prof. Rakesh Vaid for the collaboration that facilitated the organization of this impactful event. Dr. Rubia Bukhari, I/C Department of Sericulture, in her welcome address extended her heartfelt thanks to the Director, Poonch Campus, Prof. Rakesh Vaid, for recognizing the importance of this event and making it a reality. "This program is truly the need of the hour, and we look forward to many more such enlightening and inspiring events in the future," she added. She also welcomed Mr. Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer, Faculty of JKEDI, Mr. Mohsin Hamid, Assistant Faculty, and Mr. Rashid Mehmood, Officer Associate, to the Poonch Campus.
Mohsin Hamid, Assistant Faculty at JKEDI Poonch, also spoke on the occasion, providing additional insights into the entrepreneurial landscape and encouraging students to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the J&K Startup Policy (2024-2027). Dr. Palvi Sharma, presented the formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to JKEDI for their support in making the program enlightening and informative. Notable attendees included Dr. Jyoty Angotra, Mr Rashid Mehmood, Mrs. Kalpna Sudan, Mr. Sahil Choudhary, Mr. Mohd Arshad, Mr. Mohd Sagheer and Mr. Sandeep in addition to the Students of M.Sc. Sericulture programme at the Poonch campus.
