Grievance Redressal Committee

“Grievances” include the following complaints of the aggrieved students, namely:

  • Making admission contrary to merit determined in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute;
  • Irregularity in the admission process adopted by the institute;
  • Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute;
  • Non publication of prospectus, as specified;
  • Publishing any information in the prospectus, which is false or misleading, and not based on facts;
  • withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degree, diploma or any other award or other document deposited with it by a person for the purpose of seeking admission in such institution, with a view to induce or compel such person to pay any fee or fees in respect of any course or program of study which such person does not intend to pursue;
  • Demand of money in excess of that specified in the declared admission policy or approved by the competent authority to be charged by such institution;
  • Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable;
  • Complaints, of alleged discrimination of students, from the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Women, Minority or Disabled categories;
  • Nonpayment or delay in payment of scholarships to any student that such institution is committed, under the conditions imposed by University Grants Commission, or by any other authority;
  • Delay in conduct of examinations or declaration of results beyond that specified in the academic calendar;
  • On provision of student amenities as may have been promised or required to be provided by the institution;
  • Denial of quality education as promised at the time of admission or required to be provided;
  • Non transparent or unfair evaluation practices;
  • Harassment and victimisation of students, including sexual harassment.

Anti Ragging Committee

This is for the information of all the students of Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu that
"RAGGING IS COGNIZABLE OFFENCE AND IS BANNED IN ANY FORM INSIDE & OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS" 

What Constitutes Ragging

  • Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student
  • Indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student
  • Indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student
  • Indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student
  • Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students
  • Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students;
  • Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
  • Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

 

  Administrative Action In The Event Of Ragging

  • Suspension from attending Classes and Academic privileges
  • Withholding/Withdrawing Scholarship/Fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any Test/Examination or other Evaluation process
  • Withholding Results.
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any Regional, National or International Meet, Tournament, Youth Festival, etc
  • Suspension/Expulsion from the Hostel
  • Rustication from the Institution for period ranging from one four semesters.
  • Cancellation of Admission.
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from Admission to any other Institution for a specified period.

Extracurricular activities plays vital role in the overall development of the student. Cultural activities leads to the development of many important soft skills such as resource management, public speaking, morals, ethics and many more. In various events, the students of Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu tried their best to prove that they are well aware of their social & moral responsibilities. The issues like Exploitation in Education, Importance of Morals & Ethics, Patriotism, Communal Riots, Need for Global Citizenship, Environmental Issues etc. were smartly covered in different dramatic events. The dancing events were also based on various themes and were presented in a touchy way. The institute also encourage participation of the students in various state and national level cultural activities organized at different institutions and universities.

  • Library Committee

    Our objective is to perform library functions smoothly, effectively and efficiently to cater the needs and requirements of both students as well as faculty. In order to enhance the knowledge of users, our library provides the facility of reputed newspapers, magazines, Journals, viz., The Hindu. The Economic Times, The times of India, Pratiyogita Darpan, Chronicle etc. Besides with in a very short span of time we are going to transform our library into Digital Library.

Committee Against Sexual Harassment

The Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) was formed for the creation of a safe, equitable and inclusive campus environment. Sexual harassment at work is an unwelcome or uninvited or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favours, or any behaviour of sexual nature, which is offensive, embarrassing, intimidating and effects an employee’s work performance, health, career or livelihood. Sexual harassment policy of University Campus will be committed to provide an environment free of sexual harassment, stress or oppression.
It is expected that all students, faculty, Non- teaching staff and officials treat one another and visitors to the University with respect. The main functions to be performed by CASH includes:

• Crisis Management and Mediation

• Complaints screening
• Formal Enquiry and Redressal
• Penalties
• Protection against Victimisation
