DLL organises 3 days workshop on digital literacy at GDC, Purmandal

Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL) in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Purmandal today inaugurated 3 days workshop which is in the continuum to the series of workshops on “Digital Literacy” for the students of the college. The workshop was organised under the able guidance of Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Director,Department of Lifelong Learning.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Rajshree Dhar, Principal of the college. In her inaugural address, she discussed the readiness for such collaborative and skill based initiatives on the NEP guidelines. She also elaborated on the need to learn user-friendly technology for better addressing the social and official assignments. Dr. Rewa Khajuria coordinated the workshop and said that to become digitally literate is the need of the hour. It is important to understand how to access online information and learn social responsibility while using internet.

The special resource person was Mr. Sanjay Manhas from Department of Computer Sciences and IT, University of Jammu. About 25 students from different semesters of the college registered for the workshop. The programme was conducted by Prof. Shahima Akhter, convenor, career counselling cell of the college.
