Kathua Campus, University of Jammu celebrated its maiden National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The celebrations envisaged paying floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel, pledge taking ceremony and a Run for Unity around the Campus to commemorate the day.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Rector Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in her message said that the Nation became one United India only due to the efforts of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Dr. Kilam encouraged the students to inculcate the statesmanship and administrative skills of the Iron Man of India. She further appreciated the efforts of the faculty members of the Campus to take the initiative for celebrating the National Unity Day and assured every kind of support for organizing academic and cocurricular activities in the future too.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head, MCA Department administered the pledge to the students and faculty members of the Campus. Ms. Anjally Gupta, Lecturer MBA Department presented the welcome address whereas Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Lecturer MBA Department delivered formal vote of thanks.
Ms. Sumriti Sambyal, Mr. Sahil Singh and Mr. Mohal Lal, students of MCA Department coordinated the whole event. Dr. Sunny Sharma, Ms. Tiharika Nath, Ms. Kamakshi, Mr. Sarvdaman Sharma, Mr. Sandeep Raj, Mr. Sushant Gagal, Ms. Komal Khadotra, Ms. Ritika Mahajan and other faculty members of Kathua Campus were also present during the event.
