Vice Chancellor congratulates JU Professor for bagging prestigious Fulbright Fellowship in USA.

Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof Umesh Rai congratulated Prof Rakesh Vaid, faculty in the Department of Electronics, for bagging a prestigious fulbright fellowship in the United States of America (USA).
Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu said that this is indeed a proud moment for the University, as this exposure shall be useful for Prof Vaid and will provide a wonderful opportunity to represent the University at an International level.

“We are proud to have our very own faculty member, Prof Rakesh Vaid, selected for the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship,” said Prof Umesh Rai, while congratulating Prof Vaid as he left for the USA to participate in the Fulbright Fellowship. He added that such achievements inspire scholars and other faculty members to do good in their research and academics.

“Prof Rakesh Vaid’s Fulbright selection is another exciting example of how faculty at University of Jammu are successfully competing for prestigious awards," the Vice Chancellor said, adding “He's the most deserving and will make an excellent ambassador."
Prof Rakesh Vaid is a professor in the department of Electronics, University of Jammu. He has more than 31 years of teaching and research experience. He is a member of various national and international professional organisations. He has served in various leadership positions at the University of Jammu from 2013 to 2014, he was the General Secretary of Jammu University Teachers Association.

Dr Vaid has received several awards and fellowships during his career, which includes the University gold medal for securing first rank in MSc Electronics, University of Kashmir. He has more than 100 publications in national and international journals. He has diverse research interests, which include nano devices, high k directions dialectrics, device modelling and simulation, carbon nanotubes, graphene-based devices, solar cells and others.
