The research scholars of the Department of Zoology, University of Jammu brought laurels to the department by bagging awards in various international and national conferences being held during the month of September 2022 in various reputed national research institutions. In the conference “Sustainable Environment: Water health-Agriculture-Climate Nexus” held in the Central University of Jammu, J&K on 15-16th Sep.2022, Ms. Supreet Kour working under the supervision of Dr. Sarabjeet Kour was awarded with best poster presentation while Dheeraj Sharma working under the supervision of prof. Roopma Gandotra and Ms. Bandana working under Dr. Arti Sharma were awarded with best oral presentation awards in separate themes of the conference. In another National Conference on “Role of Science and Technology in Environment Conservation and Sustainable Development organised by Department of Biosciences Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla on 23-24 Sept. 2022, Ms. Indu Bharti, a research scholar of the Zoology department, JU working under the supervision of Dr. parvinder Kumar was awarded with second prize in poster category. Mr. Shashpal, PhD scholar working under the supervision of Dr. Rakesh Panjaliya bagged first prize for best oral presentation during the National Conference on Emerging trends in Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology held on 28-29th of Sept. 2002 in the Central University of Jammu organised by the Centre for Molecular Biology. The Head of the Department, Zoology and Dean Life Sciences Prof. Seema Langer has extended her greetings to the research scholars for their achievements and motivated them to continue their pursuance with hard work in research and academics.
