PM Modi Turns 72: Jammu University Wishes The Finest Prime Minister Of India, Shri. Narendra Damodardas Modi A Very Happy Birthday

Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu on his behalf and on behalf of all the stakeholders of the University extended warm greetings to India’s most popular Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas  Modi, on his 72nd Birthday. Accentuating the achievements of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, particularly in the education sector, Prof Umesh Rai said that his leadership has given unprecedented strength to the country’s progress in all spheres.“India has achieved new heights and self-respect, especially pertaining to its image at International forum,” said vice-chancellor, adding that education sector in general and Universities, in particular, are highly motivated because of proactive support of Hon’ble Prime Minister. Invoking the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi regarding the National Education Policy (NEP), Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister has laid the foundation of the interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary approach in higher education.“The basic idea of NEP is to dissolve boundaries between different disciplines and evolve education,” said Vice Chancellor, adding that it is only because of vision and determination of Hon’ble Prime Minister that such programmes have been envisaged. Vice Chancellor said that toeing the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister University of Jammu has also taken some initiatives which stand unique and are reflective of its aim to take education to the larger segment of society. Acknowledging the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in disseminating the importance of cleanliness, Vice Chancellor said that  launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission at Kartavya Path on 2nd October 2014 was the masterstroke, wherein the Hon’ble Prime Minister announced that a clean India would be the best tribute that India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019.

“University of Jammu has committed itself to be an active member of this successful campaign by keeping the campus and its surroundings clean. Swachh Bharat Mission was not only launched at a larger scale in the University of Jammu but was apparently celebrated, wherein students as well as faculty members volunteered and went to the remotest of the villages to spread the message of Swachhta and by way of Nakkud Nataks also highlighted the importance of cleanliness,” said Prof Umesh Rai. Appreciating the contribution of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in reaching out to the deprived strata of society, especially pertaining to health, the Vice Chancellor said that launch of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission has brought "revolutionary changes in our health facilities". Vice Chancellor, Prof Umesh Rai also highlighted the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s clarion call urging buy Khadi, stating Hon’ble PM’s Mantra of Khadi for the nation, Khadi for fashion, a fashion statement caught the imagination of the youth. He said that India has achieved many landmark milestones in the last eight years under our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which included recognition of over 75000 startups, which itself speaks volumes about the powerful vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to see innovation and drive growth. One after another, Hon’ble Prime Minister introduced multiple youth-friendly schemes, which were otherwise ignored or remained no priority for successive regimes, Prof Rai said and added that launch of Agneepath Yojna is one of the historical recruitment schemes for Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces.

He maintained that through this recruitment scheme, a total of 46,000 Agniveers will be recruited across the country. Vice Chancellor also remembered that during his speech from the ramparts of Red Fort on 76th Independence Day, the Hon’ble Prime Minister invoked the target of ‘Panch Pran’, which shall be achieved for the next 25 years to ensure that India is a developed nation. “The Panch Pran comprises of advance with greater conviction and the determination of a developed India, Get rid of any signs of slavery, Take pride in India’s history, the power of unity and duties of citizens. Vice Chancellor said that the University of Jammu is duly bound to implement policies and schemes announced by the government from time to time, so that faculty, staff and students can avail and further propagate to other stakeholders the importance and benefits of these schemes.
