School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Jammu organized a fireless cooking competition “डोगरेंदाखान-पान! डोगरेंदामान!” and a kite flying event. Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director SHTM was the Convener and Dr.Suvidha Khanna and Dr. Anil Gupta were the event coordinators. Students of different colleges were invited to participate in the fireless cooking competition with an objective to create awareness about the local cuisines and culture. The students were asked to prepare any food item which was a fusion of local and any other culture but its presentation reflected local culture. All the teams presented the delicacies representing various cultures.

The competition was adjudged by Dr. Sarika Manhas, Associate Professor, Department of Home Science, University of Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Singh Chib, Lecturer, Food Craft India and Mr. Vishal Saproo, Executive Chef, Lemon tree, Jammu.

Further later in the afternoon, a kite flying event was conducted by the students of MBA(HT) and BBA (HM) to celebrate Janamashtmi in the department. All the teaching and non-teaching staff, scholars and students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Both events were supported by Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Dr. Nikita Dogra, Mr Gaurav Sharma, Mr.Shubam Gupta, and Mr. Tapas Tandon, faculty members of the Department.
