Reasi Campus of the University of Jammu has celebrated today 76th Independence day of India with great fervour and zeal. The function was attended by all the staff members, students and persons from the civil society. The national flag was hoisted by Prof. Sushil K. Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus. At the outset, he congratulated everyone on the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the 76th Independence day of India. He highlighted the sacrifices of the great Indian freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. At the same time, he elaborated on the progress made in the country during the last 75 years as well as the sustainable development goals taken up by the government of India for the next 25 years when India will celebrate the 100th year of independence. He has also spoken on key benefits of the National Education Policy 2020 which is implemented in the country including JKUT from the year 2022. This is a major reform policy of the Government of India in transforming the education sector. He further said that every citizen of India must follow fundamental duties as a moral obligation while thinking of fundamental rights provided by the constitution of India. The students of the Reasi campus have presented a cultural programme on this occasion followed by a Tiranga Rally from campus to various areas of the city wherein students and staff members were holding the tiranga flag and raised patriotic slogans and songs during the rally. Prof. Pandey complimented all staff members and students for their active and enthusiastic participation and also thanked everyone, especially to Dr. Nisha Sharma and Mr. Manoj Kumar for their tireless efforts in organizing the event successfully.
