Online Workshop on Advanced Data Analysis under HRDC (18th to 22nd January, 2021) organized by Dept of Commerce, JU

A “One Week Workshop on  Advanced Research Methodology (Advanced Data Analysis)”   is organized by the UGC-HRDC on online mode in collaboration with PG Department of Commerce, the University of Jammu from 18thto 22nd of January, 2021. The workshop is geared up by Professor Hardeep Chahal, HOD, Department of Commerce. She delved upon the nature of workshop and the techniques such as Conjoint Analysis, Descriminant Analysis, EFA, CFA, SEM ( PLS), Moderation and Mediation to be covered in the coming days. She also introduced Mr. Shankar M Mepparambath, Mentor, CARES, Bangalore the key speaker of the Ist Session of the workshop and Dr Surabh Aggarwal, Researcher and Trainer on data Analysis. The workshop is joined by 58 participants from various states of India belonging to different specialised areas like zoology, chemistry, history, management, mathematics, English, commerce etc. The session was very interactive and lively. Mr Shankar started the session with an introduction to Multivariate analysis and its applicability with reference to different data types. He also highlighted on  various assumptions undertaken in case of multivariate analysis. He discussed each and every assumption in depth and how  such assumptions vary in case of social sciences context and for other sciences. 2ndand 3rdsessions were chaired by Dr. Saurav Aggrawal who is a profound researcher and trainer on data anlysis.  In 2nd session he discussed the theoretical part of conjoint analysis and  its applicability and uses. This is followed by hands on session on conjoint analysis. This was a practical  session. He taught about the steps undertaken while doing conjoint analysis using SPSS.  In the end, Dr. Jeevan Jyoti thanked the resource persons and the participants
