DSRS organised an induction programme for the newly admitted students in MA Defence and Strategic Studies

The Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), University of Jammu, held an induction programme for the second batch of postgraduate students enrolled in the MA in Defence and Strategic Studies on November 21, 2023. During the program, the Director of DSRS, Prof. Virender Koundal, provided an overview of the history and objectives of the department and explained the scope and opportunities of the MA program to the students. Prof. Koundal encouraged the students to participate in academic, cultural, and sports activities and advised them to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the University of Jammu for their career growth. Faculty members of the DSRS, including Dr. Mohd. Monir Alam, Dr. Suneel Kumar, Dr. Surinder Mohan, Dr. Ganesh Malhotra, and Ranjan Sharma, also shared their insights with the students. It is worth mentioning that the MA program in Defence and Strategic Studies was launched by DSRS in the 2022-23 academic session, and the recent admission process was completed under the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) system under which 21 students have taken admission to this programme.
