* Out of three available elective courses, the students will have to opt for only one elective course in the 3rd semester
**Out of the four available elective courses the studens will have to opt for only one elective course in the 4th semester.
Apart from the above mentioned courses, the candidates will have to earn one four credit course from IIIrd semester and one four credit course from IVth semester from any other Department under the faculty of Social Sciences of the University

* M.A. Sociology is also being offered at Ramnagar Campus, University of Jammu and Reasi Campus, University of Jammu. However, choice based credit system is not applicable in these institutions
