3-Day Faculty Entrepreneurship Development Program Concludes Successfully at University of Jammu

Jammu, February 25, 2026: The three-day Faculty Entrepreneurship Development Program (FEDP) concluded successfully at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Zoology, University of Jammu. The program was jointly organized by the Skill Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SIIEDC), University of Jammu, in collaboration with T-Hub, Hyderabad, with the aim of strengthening entrepreneurial mindsets, innovation capacity, and startup-oriented academic engagement among faculty members.
The programme began on February 23, 2026, with an inaugural session addressed by Prof.Alka Sharma, Director, SIIEDC, who underscored that the University of Jammu, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof.Umesh Rai, is steadily enhancing its innovation ecosystem. She stated that the collaboration with T-Hub is intended to provide structured incubation, mentorship, and startup support to faculty and students of the campus. The inaugural session was followed by an interactive ice-breaking activity conducted by Mr. Ganesh Iyer from Young India Project and Mr. Mohammed Hafeezuddin from T-Hub. The first day of the program introduced participants to the core principles of entrepreneurship, the Indian startup and incubation landscape, various incubation models, and the identification of innovation potential within the university system. On the second day, Mr. Abhijeet Kumarfacilitated engaging sessions on idea generation, opportunity identification, and design thinking for academic innovation, complemented by a design thinking sprint and discussions on converting research outcomes into viable start-up ventures through practical case studies.
The final day featured expert sessions by Dr.RamjeePallela,senior consultant, who highlighted the role of faculty members as mentors and drivers of innovation, provided insights into the incubation funding ecosystem including government schemes and seed funding avenues, and shared leadership perspectives on successful incubation practices. The program concluded with department-wise action planning exercises, enabling participants to formulate concrete strategies for post-program entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives.
Faculty members from various departments actively participated in discussions, collaborative activities, and hands-on exercises, demonstrating keen interest in integrating entrepreneurship into teaching and research. The program emphasized the pivotal role of universities in fostering startups, encouraging student innovation, and contributing to the national innovation ecosystem. Dr. Harish ChanderDutt, Coordinator, Business, Incubation and Innovation Vertical, SIIEDC, expressed gratitude to the resource persons, participating faculty members, and the University administration for their support in ensuring the success of the program. The FEDP is expected to stimulate interdisciplinary innovation, promote faculty-led startups, and strengthen institutional incubation efforts at the University of Jammu.
