Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Jammu organized Poster Making Presentation at University of Jammu

To commemorate International Women’s Day, the Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Jammu, successfully organized Poster Making Presentation today on the theme Bharati Nari to Narayani: Silent Strength to Strategic Force on 23rd February 2026 in the Seminar Hall of the Centre, University of Jammu in which students of different departments participated. The event aimed to celebrate the extraordinary journey of Indian women from being the silent pillars of strength within families and communities to emerging as dynamic leaders and shaping the future of the nation.
The Program was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. Savita Nayyar, Director Centre for Women’s Studies who in her address she said that this program was organized not only to celebrate creativity but also to acknowledge the remarkable journey of Indian women who have transformed from silent pillars of strength into powerful architects of change. While talking to the participants she said that when we speak of Narayani, we invoke the spirit of divine strength and courage symbolized by Goddess Durga and this transformation from silent endurance to strategic leadership is now visible in every sphere of our society. Further, she also stressed that empowering women is not merely a social responsibility but a national necessity. When we uplift a woman, we uplift a family, a community, and ultimately the nation. She also applauded the efforts of the students who thoughtfully captured the theme through their posters and presentations.
The participants used vibrant colors, meaningful symbols, and powerful slogans, and beautifully portrayed the transformation of women from silent supporters to strategic leaders in society. Later the participants expressed their views with clarity and passion, emphasizing that empowerment is not just about rights but about recognizing women as strategic contributors to national development. The event witnessed thoughtful discussions, creative storytelling, and inspiring speeches that reflected awareness, sensitivity, and progressive thinking among the students. The Certificates of Appreciation were also distributed among the participants
Dr. Saranjit Kaur and Dr. Disha Sharma, both Faculty members, Centre for Women’s Studies were the organizing secretaries of the program.
