DLL organizes Career Counselling Workshop at GDC Bhagwati Nagar

Employment Information-cum-Advisory Bureau (EIAB), Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Bhagwati Nagar, today organized a career counselling workshop for the students of the college.
The workshop was one among the series of counselling workshops being organized by the Employment Information-cum-Advisory Bureau, DLL. The purpose of the workshop was to carry forward the vision of our visionary Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai, to enhance the skills of youth and make them employable in the dynamic world of work.
The workshop was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Director, DLL, and Prof. Naveen Anand, Principal of the College.
The inaugural address was given by Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Director, DLL. She briefed the gathering about the range of activities being conducted under the aegis of the Department of Lifelong Learning. She also emphasized the importance of new generic skills, which are essential for today’s youth to meet the demands of the global market.
Ms. Neetu Dhar, Chief Coordinator and Master Trainer (JKDCUL – Jammu Kashmir Dairy Producers, Processors and Marketing Cooperative Ltd), Jammu, and Dr. Anshu Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu, were the resource persons.
Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, Department of Lifelong Learning, explained the objective behind conducting such workshops. Ms. Neetu Dhar apprised the students about formal and non-formal communication skills, body language, and conversation starters through interactive activities. Dr. Anshu Gupta, in her presentation, explained career options in Environmental Sciences, new and emerging areas in the field, major environmental issues of the present day, and pollution control.
Thirty-six students of the 1st Semester actively participated in the workshop. The event was anchored by the students of the college. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Pawanjeet Kour, Convener, Career Counselling Cell of the College
