UIET, Kathua Campus (JU), successfully organized an expert lecture on "3D Printing and Its Applications" today  to provide students with valuable insights into one of the most transformative technologies in modern engineering. The session was conducted by Prof. Ankush Anand, from the School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU. He is a distinguished expert in the field, who delivered a comprehensive lecture on the fundamentals, advancements, and real-world applications of 3D printing.

During the session, Prof. Ankush Anand detailed the working principles of 3D printing, including additive manufacturing techniques such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereo lithography (SLA), and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). He emphasized how 3D printing has revolutionized industries like automotive, aerospace, healthcare, architecture, and manufacturing, enabling rapid prototyping, cost-effective production, and customized solutions. He further discussed cutting-edge innovations in 3D printing, including bioprinting of human tissues, construction of 3D-printed houses, and sustainable manufacturing practices. He shared case studies, industry insights, and live demonstrations to make the lecture engaging and interactive for students. Additionally, he addressed queries from students regarding career opportunities, research prospects, and the future scope of additive manufacturing.

P467129rof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) highlighted the significance of evolving technologies like 3D printing in shaping the future of society. He emphasized how technological advancements contribute to sustainable development and innovation, urging students to stay updated with emerging trends to remain competitive in the global market. He further stressed that the evolution of 3D printing technology, has significantly affected different fields such as manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, automotive, and architecture. He encouraged students to explore, experiment, and apply these advancements to enhance their technical expertise and career prospects.

Dr. Rockey Gupta, I/c Principal, UIET expressed gratitude to the speaker for sharing his expertise and guiding students toward technological advancements that can shape their careers. He also stressed that the students should learn modern technologies like 3D printing, which play a crucial role in engineering and research.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Vivudh Gupta and formal vote of thanks was presented by Er. Pallvi Verma.

Ms. Shamli Jasrotia, AO (UIET) and the entire faculty of UIET was present during the lecture.
