JU’s UTSAAH Organises 2-day Wildlife, Astro Photography Workshop in Collaboration with Canon under Viksit Bharat@2047

Continuing with its commitment to provide a learning platform to students and enthusiasts, Jammu University’s cultural group-Utsaah Saturday organized a two days wildlife and Astro Photography workshop in collaboration with Canon India under ambitious Viksit Bharat@2047.

Chairperson of the Utsaah-Prof Satnam Kour was the chief guest on the occasion, whereas Prof Parmil Kumar, Coordinator of Nature and Wildlife Club coordinated the entire event.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Satnam Kour lauded efforts of the coordinators for organizing such events that are enhancing capabilities of the learners.

“This workshop has brought together photography enthusiasts, students and nature lovers,” she said and added that this collaborative initiative with Canon India aims to blend the technical expertise of professionals with the enthusiasm and curiosity of the participants.

She stated that such events-wildlife photography promises a unique opportunity for attendants to enhance their skills while capturing breathtaking beauty of the local wildlife.

“This is a multidimensional workshop, which provides unique learning opportunities to photography enthusiasts, nature lovers and students of journalism and mass communication in different ways,” Prof Satnam Kour said and added that participants will be benefited from hands-on guidance provided by professional experts from canon India.

Giving details about the event, Prof Parmil Kumar said that through this workshop the participants will gain insights into the nuances of Wildlife and AstroPhotography.

“We are elated to collaborate with Canon India to bring this exciting wildlife and Astro Photography workshop to the University of Jammu,” he said, adding “Utsaah has always been committed to develop creativity and provide unique experience for participants.”

He shared that on the first day of the workshop, participants shall be provided basic information about the wildlife and astro photography by the professional experts from Canon India, whereas on day two the participants will visit Gharana Wetland to capture birds in action under the guidance of professionals.

Talking on the theme ‘Wildlife, Environment and India @2047”, environment conservator and Director NDF, Dr Pankaj Chandan said that every photo has a story.

“Photography teaches you patience, especially wildlife photography, where you have to wait for hours to get your subject captured,” he said and added that he had been following this passion from the last many decades and had spent several thousand hours waiting to click Black Necked Crane.

He said to make India a Viksit, it is imperative for every Indian to work dedicatedly and contribute their bit for making this great nation Viksit.

Others present on the occasion included Brigadier RS Jamwal, Colonel Romesh Salathia, Arvind Kotwal (JKAS), Dr Garima Gupta, Head Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr Pritam Singh, Coordinator Photography Club, Dr Rakesh Sharma, Coordinator Paining Club, Dr Chinmayee, Coordinator Science Club, Dr Neeraj Sharma from Bhaderwah campus of University of Jammu and students from different departments of the University.
