JU Proposes Credit for Professional Experiences - Prof Umesh Rai

The University of Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for imparting various Training Programmes in the field of IoT at PG Department of Computer Science and IT with Advance tech India Pvt. Ltd., Mohali. The MOU was signed in presence of the Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu by Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, University of Jammu and Sh. Arvind Dixit, Director, Advancetech.

Prof. Umesh Rai appreciated the Head and faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu for taking an initiative to engage the corporate sector. Prof. Rai emphasized that Departments must collaborate and extend association so that the premier institutions can contribute towards the growth of the students of the University. He further envisioned that the credits to the professional knowledge must be given by which an employee of the private companies can earn a degree from the University of Jammu, that will help in achieving the collaborations of industry with academia as mandated in New Education Policy (NEP-2020). Prof Rai impressed upon HOD, Computer Sciences & IT to prepare a draft in this regard so that the same can be placed before relevant bodies for its implementation.

Prof. Rai further hoped that such MoU will provide further avenues to the students and scholars of the Department of Computer Science and IT.  

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, University of Jammu, also congratulated the faculty members of the Department on the occasion of the signing of the MoU. Prof. Jasrotia emphasized   that this MoU shall open new opportunities in key industry practices and skills besides providing exposure to live projects and hands-on practical training to the students of MCA and M.Tech.

Prof. Pawanesh Abrol, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT while briefing the objectives informed that the department has been taking various initiatives like organising technical lectures, FDPs, invited talks, workshops in the latest fields and technologies. Prof. Abrol reiterated that, MoU between Advance tech and Department of Computer Science shall provide significant exposures to the scholars, students and the faculty in the field of IoT.

Sh. Arvind Dixit, Director Advance tech expressed the willingness of the company to facilitate the effective utilization of the intellectual capabilities of Advance tech in the domains of IoT and also extended its full support to the departmental initiatives. Prof. Vinod Sharma, Prof. Lalit Sen Sharma, Dr. Shubhnandan S. Jamwal, Sh. Jasbir Singh were also present on the occasion of the signing of the MoU.
