TBS, JU inaugurates Innovative Executive MBA Program for Working Professionals

The Business School, University of Jammu marked a significant milestone with the inaugural function of its pioneering Executive MBA program, in blended mode with the Multiple Entry Exit Scheme (MEES), in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The event, held at the Executive Convention Centre of The Business School, brought together distinguished guests, faculty, and stakeholders to celebrate this innovative academic endeavor for the academic session 2023-25.

Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Director, The Business School welcomed the esteemed guests and provided insights into the Executive MBA program's unique features. Prof. Chauhan emphasized on need of transformative experience with Project Based Learning which is the strength of EMBA program. Director TBS also appreciated the support received from the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University authorities and faculty of the Business School in launch of EMBA programm.

Prof. Versha Mehta, Dean Business Studies, University of Jammu, delivered special remarks, emphasizing the importance of the Executive MBA program in the current educational landscape. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mehta emphasized on the contributions of senior executives with immense experience for overall growth of the department.

Shri. Kamal P. Patnaik, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. He congratulated The Business School for introducing such an innovative program and delivered an insightful address, highlighting the program's relevance in the evolving professional landscape. Mr. Patnaik also shared the role of RBI in growth and monitoring of Indian economy. He appreciated the executives who have taken the challenge of learning after experience in their respective fields and walked an extra mile despite of tremendous personal and professional challenges.

Dr. Yashpal Malik, Guest of Honor and Consultant to esteemed organizations like PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Asian Development Bank, shared his wealth of corporate experience. He spoke passionately about the practical applications of the Executive MBA program for working professionals. Dr. Malik reiterated that knowledge is important but skills have no substitute and emphasized on building competencies and upgrading skills to contribute to their respective organizations.   

Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, Senior Most Professor of The Business School, and Former Director of IIM Sirmaur, presided over the function. Her presidential remarks underscored the program's importance and its potential impact on the professional development of participants. Prof. Rohmetra appreciated the efforts of Director, TBS for successful execution of EMBA and being able to fetch fourteen participants with diverse background for the program. Speaking on the occasion she encouraged TBS to integrate different University departments and plan something more inclusive with wider scope.

The event was attended by senior officials from the University, including Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector Kathua Campus, Prof. Hardeep Chahal , Director, ICCR&HRM as well as senior professors Prof. Alka Sharma , Director ,SIIEDC, Prof. Sameer Gupta, Prof. Rajendra Mishra, Dr. Amisha Gupta, Dr. Komal Nagar, Dr. Rachna Mahajan, Dr. Saloni Devi, Dr. Farah S. Choudhary, Dr. Aubid H. Parrey, Dr. Shelleka Gupta, Dr. Garima and Dr. Rajni  from the department. Fourteen executives enrolled in the EMBA program, along with MBA students, added to the vibrant atmosphere of the inaugural function.

Dr. Rachna Mahajan, Associate Professor of The Business School, delivered a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The master of ceremonies for the evening was Dr. Aubid Hussain Parrey who added a touch of professionalism and flair to the proceedings.

The launch of the Executive MBA program underscores The Business School's commitment to delivering cutting-edge education that caters to the evolving needs of working professionals, aligning with global standards.
