To orient and empower newly admitted students, Induction Programme at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu commenced today and will continue till August 12, 2025 (Tuesday). The programme is designed to help students transition into their academic journey by familiarizing them with the campus environment, institutional values, and available academic and co-curricular opportunities.
As part of the opening day, an inspiring Induction cum Motivational Lecture was organized on the theme “Baby Steps to Build Fortune: A Journey of Professional Ethics” by Mr. Kamal K. Sharma, Founder and Director of SaveFirst Investinsure Services. The session aimed to instil in students the importance of ethical practices and how small, consistent efforts can lead to long-term professional success.
Sharing insights from his rich entrepreneurial journey, Mr. Sharma highlighted the vital importance of ethics, discipline, and consistent effort in building a meaningful and sustainable career. His inspiring words and real-life experiences deeply resonated with the newly admitted students, leaving a lasting impression on their minds and motivating them to pursue their goals with integrity and determination.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, in his message emphasized the importance of embedding professional ethics at the foundational stage of education. He underscored the Campus’s commitment for nurturing students both academically and morally, stating that ethical values form the cornerstone of true professional excellence.
The programme began with welcome address by Dr. Sourabh Shastri, In-charge Head, MCA who introduced Kathua Campus as a dynamic academic centre with modern facilities and committed faculty. He highlighted the value of such lectures in shaping students' perspectives and reinforcing core values.
Dr. Rajani Sarangal, In-charge Head, MBA delivered vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to the speaker, attendees and organizers for their valuable contributions. Further, she highlighted the importance of such sessions in nurturing professional ethics and inspiring growth.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Princee Verma, Assistant Professor, The Management School. Other faculty members including Dr. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Surekha Phakwrya, Dr. Nomita Sahrma, Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Dr. Sunny Sharma, Dr. Bharti Rana, Dr. Pranav Ratta, Dr. Vivudh Gupta, and Er. Vishavjeet Singh were also present during the session.
