Alumni Interaction marks 2nd Day of Induction Programme at Kathua Campus (JU)
The second day of Induction Programme at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu was filled with engaging activities and motivating interactions aimed at familiarizing newly admitted students with the campus environment and inspiring them through real-life success stories.
Students then embarked on a campus tour, visiting Academic Block, Libraries, Computer Labs, Sports Facilities, UIET Building, Mango Orchard, Nav Garah Vatika, Hostels, and other key infrastructure.
A major highlight was the Alumni Meet graced by distinguished alumni including Ms. Kanika Sharma (MCA, 2013-16) currently working in the IT sector with expertise in software development and project management, Ms. Laxmi Badyal (MBA, 2014-16) who has built a career in corporate management and business operations, Ms. Shiwalika Sambyal (MCA, 2019-22) pursuing Ph.D, and Mr. Aarzoo Sharma (MCA, 2020-23) engaged in innovative IT projects and application development.
The alumni shared their career journeys, highlighting professional challenges, industry trends, and the skills that shaped their success. They credited their alma mater for laying a strong foundation and motivated the newcomers to seize every academic and extracurricular opportunity.
In his message, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu urged the new students to actively participate in both academic and practical learning experiences. He commended the campus for fostering a vibrant learning environment and encouraged students to remain disciplined, determined, and solution-oriented.
Earlier, the day began with welcome address by Dr. Sourabh Shastri, In-charge Head, Computer Science. He stressed the importance of holistic development, leadership, and integrity in academic and professional growth, encouraging students to fully explore the opportunities available on campus.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Rajani Sarangal, In-charge Head, The Management School and urged students to embrace unity, curiosity, and dedication in their academic journey. She also emphasized the value of co-curricular and extracurricular involvement for holistic growth.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Surekha Phakwrya, Assistant Professor, The Management School and attended by faculty members Lt. Amit Sharma, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Ms. Princee Verma, Dr. Sunny Sharma, Dr. Bharti Rana, Dr. Pranav Ratta, Dr. Nomita Sharma, and Dr. Meenakshi Thakur.
