University of Kashmir’s DYD students visit JU, engage in knowledge exchange

To enhance inter-university collaboration, the University of Jammu hosted students and faculty from the Design Your Degree (DYD) program of the University of Kashmir (KU) for a two-day knowledge exchange program. The visit provided a unique platform for KU students to immerse themselves in the academic environment of the University of Jammu and explore collaborative opportunities within the DYD initiatives.

 On this occasion, Vice Chancellor,  University of Jammu, Prof. Umesh Rai, interacted with the students from KU. In his session, Prof. Rai highlighted the transformative approach of the DYD program at the University of Jammu and encouraged the visiting students to fully benefit from this academic exchange. His interactive discussion allowed students to ask questions, gain insights, and explore new academic pathways and opportunities available under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

 Earlier, Prof. Alka Sharma, Director , SIIEDC, presented an overview of DYD activities at the University of Jammu, emphasizing the program’s focus on interdisciplinary and practical learning aligned with NEP 2020.

 Dr. Sandeep Arya showcased major projects led by the DYD students of the University of Jammu over the past year, sparking great interest among the visiting faculty and students.

 Faculty members including Prof. K.S. Charak, Prof. Anil Gupta, Prof. Sadaf Shah, and Dr. Jatinder Manhas offered valuable feedback, enriching the academic discussions. 

 KU’s DYD Coordinator, Prof. Syeda Afshana, shared notable achievements and milestones of the DYD program at the University of Kashmir. A highlight of the visit was the dynamic student-led interactive session, where students from both universities discussed their experiences and aspirations within the DYD framework.

 KU students also attended DYD classes at the University of Jammu, gaining firsthand insight into the unique academic methodologies practiced there. The two-day visit successfully facilitated knowledge exchange and strengthened the academic ties between the University of Jammu and the University of Kashmir, emphasizing a mutual dedication to collaborative growth and educational excellence.
