Inspiring Induction Ceremony organized at the Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu

Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu organized an impressive induction program to welcome the newly admitted students of M. A Economics and M. Com for the academic session 2024-25. The event, aimed at familiarizing the students with the campus, its facilities, and the academic environment, marked the beginning of their higher education journey at the university.

The program commenced with an insightful presentation by Ms. Taruna Dubey, who detailed the various facilities available at the Udhampur Campus. Her presentation provides informative sessions covering academic expectations, the range of programs available at the campus, and the various facilities including, smart-classes, an air-conditioned library, internet enabled computer labs, seminar hall, conference hall, sports facilities, hostel accommodation for boys and girls and other developing facilities. Besides academic set up, new incumbents were also acquainted with the various opportunities like Display Your Talent, local festival celebrations, entrepreneurial skills, field trips and workshops, awareness camps, health camps, NSS and other such programmes.

Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Rector, Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu welcomed all the students and provided an overview of recent achievements, initiatives and future prospects of the campus which have further elevated its standing within the University of Jammu. Addressing the students, Prof. Sharma emphasized the significance of higher education in shaping the future of individuals and the nation. Emphasizing the significance of moral principles and culture, he urged students to engage in all facets of campus life, such as academics, sports and cultural events, in order to cultivate a well-rounded individual. He exhorted the students to pursue excellence in all they do and to make the most of the opportunities the Campus offers. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, for his continuous support of the inclusive and comprehensive development of the Udhampur Campus.

The University's dedication to creating a meaningful induction experience is evident in the coordinated efforts of faculty, non- teaching staff ensuring that every new student experiences a smooth and enriching transition into university life. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks. The event was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.
