ICccR & HRM, JU organized Industry Academia Meet: Gauging Industry Perception

International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu organised Industry Academia Meet-2024 under  the theme: Gauging Industry Perception. The underlying objectives of the Industry-Academia meets was to:

1. Interact with the students of MBA (International Business).

2. Have discussion around the theme, "Industry-Academia Connect: Gauging Industry Perception

3. Table & Brainstorm Suggestive Measures: Developing Industry academia Interfaces and Road Ahead

4. Explore Emergent Entrepreneurial Opportunities in the UT of J&K.

 

The Industry Experts for the meet were

The consolidated suggestive measures and deliberations of industry experts and expert from EDI-Jammu for academia were:

  1. To develop curriculum with special orientation towards international skill accreditation systems and structures thereby enabling students to develop aligned skills as formative years of career development.
  2. To station students in corporate/industry for learning critical thinking and analytical skills for a specific time thereby enabling them to learn corporate problem solving experientially.
  3. To introduce community and CSR outreach projects as part of professional programme so that community consciousness can be imbibed along with corporate training and learning.  
  4. Special seminars and workshops to be organised to understand critical corporate audits so that the important of work ethic and regulatory framework can be made understood to students in their academic years of learning and practice.
  5. It was further tabled, that academia can be pivotal in terms of organising leadership, management and executive development programmes specially tailored for industry as per their structure and protocol.
  6. For startups and incubation, the EDI official provided detailed information to students about the process of registration of startups, coworking and incubation support provided by EDI-Jammu, Financial and mentoring support and further conversion of incubated idea into startup with sustainable business outcomes.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hardeep Chahal expressed need to organise such like meets in continuum so that the benefits can be realised in terms of industry academia interface development, wherein academia can be at forefront to cater to the industrial needs in terms of professionals, advisory, training and collaborations.

The meet was organized by Dr. Isha Sharma, Faculty, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu as Principal Investigator under UoJRF-Seed Grant.

The faculty members at ICccR & HRM, students of MBA (International Business) and research scholars attended and participated in the meet.
