IIC, University of Jammu organizes interactive session-cum-awareness program

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with Department of Botany, University of Jammu organized an interactive session-cum-awareness program with the locals of village Sohanjana. Experts from plant sciences interacted with the locals and addressed their problems related to their livelihoods in general and agriculture in particular. The session emphasized on the critical role of innovation in achieving maximum agricultural productivity in current scenario of changes in land use patterns and climate.

54725President, IIC, University of Jammu, highlighted the importance of local populace and academicians in identifying problems and seeking solutions to them. The role of young fertile minds in providing innovative ideas to tackle climate crisis and reduce its possible negative impacts on agricultural produce was emphasized. The students and research scholars actively participated in the program and became aware of the problems faced by the local farmers at the grass roots level. They also realized the significance of local innovative solutions to their problems. Many issues of the rural women and farmers were also addressed and remedial measures suggested.

Other  members of IIC, JU also participated in the event and contributed significantly to the awareness program.
