Employment Information cum Advisory Bureau (EIAB), Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu inaugurated three days workshop on Digital Literacy for the students of the Govt. Degree College, Purmandal. The main objective of this workshop is to enable the students to learn basic computer skills so that they can become proficient in handling computer based activities.
Prof. (Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar, Principal of the college in her welcome address expressed the dire need of digital based activities for the students of the college as it builds a strong foundation for them. She advised the students to take part in the workshop with full enthusiasm as it will help them with their future career plans. She also appreciated the efforts of Department of Lifelong Learning to organize such workshops.
The workshop is being organized under the guidance of Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Director DLL. It is coordinated by Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counselor, EIAB, DLL. The resource person is Mr. Sanjay Manhas, Assistant Programmer, Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu. He will take sessions on the importance of learning computer skills, significance and types of computer-based information system, tools and future of digital technology.
Around 42 students have registered for the workshop. Ms. Shahima Akhter, coordinator Career Counseling Cell, GDC Purmandal provides all support for the workshop.
