The Bharat Scouts and Guide organized ‘Rangers and Rovers Pravesh Training programme’ for the students of P.G. Department of Education, University of Jammu. Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Sports and Physical Education, Mr. Ravish Vaid & Mr. Vimal Kishore; Assistant Professor, faculty members of the Physical Education Department, Prof. (Dr.) Renu Nanda, Head, Department of Education, Dr. Monica Narang; Faculty of the Law School were present in the inaugural session. Prof. (Dr.) Renu Nanda, Head, Department of Education delivered a welcome address.
Mr. Haroon Malik from ‘The J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides’ was the chief trainer. He discussed the historical background of Bharat Scouts and Guide, and requirements for Parvesh training like The Guide Promise, The Guide Law, Motto, Sign and Salute. The Chief agenda to organize the training programme was to endow with different styles of salutes, handshake and so many other things related to different types of camps based on the capabilities and interest of the students. Mr. Malik also gave awareness regarding different types of awards at different levels viz. local, state, national and international to the students. A total of twenty-five P.G. students of Education were trained during the session, namely, Jatin Kumar, Ishrat Parveen, Kritika Sharma, Reema Baby, Radhika Rajput, Shabnam Choudhary, Urvi Khajuria, Sakshi Sharma, Sakshi Verma, Nikita Kumari, Asma Nazakit, Mannat Vaid, Abida Kouser, Asia Tabassum, Anjali Raina, Shallu Shehria, Sanjana, Akshu Sharma, Ankita Sharma, Komal Devi, Parvinder Kour, Nishat Akhter, Nafia Akhter, Shruti Gupta and Tania Jamwal.
Dr. Sushanta Panda, Dr. Kajal Manhas, Dr.Ana Bali , Faculty of Department of Education were also present . The non-teaching staff as well as Mr. Mulkhraj, Mr. Romy Kumar, Sheetu Meenia, research scholars of Department of Education were the supporting staff for the training programme.
